Ready, steady..... now what!

It is safe to say, we are in very unusual times currently, with so much uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. One thing is for certain though... we need to look after ourselves better than ever, so that we may cope with any adversity or challenges we are presented with, then have the capacity to help look after those important people in our lives - children, parents, colleagues, neighbours and friends.

In the coming weeks, I will try to inspire you to find new ways to look after yourself - possibly in ways you never thought possible. In the past few years, I have been doing a lot of self-discovery and have come across some amazing people and resources that I will share with you. Some things may appeal to you, others may not, but I ask you to have a look and keep an open mind. Let's open our minds to the possibility that we must take responsibility for our health and wellness more than ever before, and let's get ready to do it!

I have a few links for you today.

The first is from Douglas Heel, of BeActivated. He is the teacher I learned muscle activations from. Some of you have been shown some activations already in my sessions, but this is a little course Douglas has created to allow everyone to access the benefits of his work ... for FREE! He touches on mindset, breathing and zone 1 activations. Dive in and learn for yourself:

The second is a short clip entitled "Why do we lose control of our emotions?"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3bKuoH8CkFc

It is geared to kids, but is equally important for adults to understand. At a time when we are most likely feeling a mix of many different emotions and are possibly feeling incredibly stressed out, understanding how the brain works can be a really big help.

Finally, a short, but very important, interview with Eckhart Tolle and Oprah Winfrey on the topic of acceptance. It takes a lot of practice, but can make a huge difference in how you react to and deal with moments of stress.

Enjoy. See you next time.
